Sugar Shacks

This weekend was NH Maple Producers Open House Weekend which meant lots of free samples of maple syrup along with maple flavored cookies, cotton candy, hot dogs, popcorn and on top of ice cream. YUM! If any of you have had the syrup from New England you know it's tasty. We took advantage of the tastings and tours of the sugar shacks which is where they make all the syrup. Pretty interesting to see all the lines connecting the trees to the shack and exactly how they make them. Most are a family run business.

Looking at the lines connecting the trees

Lily loving the cotton candy, had a little sugar high afterwards.

Listening to some live music while eating a hot dog.

Picture of the shack and people (couldn't believe how many people were there). They were also giving tractor trailer rides of the area.

New Cousin!

Lily has a new cousin!!! Leah Elizabeth Gabe was born yesterday May 25th at 6:57pm (i think) by c-section. She weighed 7lbs 10oz and was 19 3/4 inches long. I have no idea who she looks like, but we think she's pretty cute. Congrats to Mommy Bethany and Daddy Eric. You did it!!!

Big Sister

We are expanding our family and Lily is going to be a big sister in mid September. We're not sure how she's going to react, but hoping it's more like the first picture than the second. :)

Finale Cake

Here's my last cake from my classes. We had to make a tiered wedding cake. Pretty sure the flowers alone took me a total of over 12 hours to make.

Easter Balls (Eggs)

We went and got a few plastic easter eggs this weekend so hopefully we can hide them outside for Lily (weather permitting) on Easter. I put them all in a bowl and Lily loves playing with them. She calls them balls and doesn't get they are eggs. Close enough. She opens all of them and then brings them to Grant or I to put back together. So much fun!!

Oh, are you looking at me mom?

Lily loves Elmo

There is not usually a day that goes by where Lily doesn't do the Tickle and Groove Dance with Elmo. She'll get her Elmo hands on and then go by the TV to watch the short video that goes with it. She giggles every time it comes on and just loves Elmo. Thanks for the Xmas gift Shannon! :)

Fondant cake

My latest cake class is all about fondant decorating. Surprisingly not that hard, but takes a long time and doesn't taste good...but it does look pretty. Here's the cake I made tonight. Our final cake is a 2 tiered wedding cake with fondant roses. You'll have pictures in a couple weeks for that one. :) Enjoy!
