Eating

We tried rice cereal for the 1st time last night and Alaina loved it. She just kept coming at the spoon, almost ready to fall out of the bumbo seat. She couldn't get enough of it. She's also enjoying her toes, loves to play with them and try to put them in her mouth.

Loves to be tickled!

4 Month Stats

We had Alaina's 4 month Dr. visit today. Everything is looking good, the antibiotic must have worked b/c her ears already look better. The shots were not fun, but really are shots ever fun. :)

Weight 14 lbs 2 oz. (63%)
Height 24 1/4 inches (47%)
Head Circ. 16.2 inches (55%)

Was supposed to take them to daycare today, but we are having another snowstorm/freezing rain, so I decided to keep them both home with me since I didn't have to work. We'll hope Grant's commute home doesn't take too much longer than expected. Think we've gotten about 5 inches so far and now it's freezing rain.

SNOW!!!!

I'm sure everyone heard we got a lot of snow. well, it is true we got LOTS of snow. So much that Grant didn't even go into work yesterday. According to a TV station we got about 22 inches in less than 24 hrs. Lily really wanted to go out and play in it, but it was freezing with the high winds so that lasted about 5 minutes. Took longer to get her ready than what she was outside for. We enjoyed most of the day by staying in our pjs and playing. Lily is enjoying a tea party and trying to get Alaina to join her...not working very well, but Alaina does love to smile at her. :)

On the mend...

Or at least I hope we are. I took Alaina to the Dr. because her fever just wasn't going away. Ends up she has her first ear infection. Lets just hope that she doesn't have has many as Lily has had. So she is on antibiotic twice a day which she hates to swallow, but hope it works. The Dr. also listened to Lily's lungs while we were there b/c I wasn't sure if she was wheezing or not. Yep, she was so she's back on her oral steroid along with her albuterol and pulmicort nebulizer treatments. They've both been sleeping really well so we'll hope that continues. They are both at daycare today (I didn't have to work, but took them anyway). This way I got to get groceries on my own, do some laundry, clean the floors, exchange some things at kohls and get an eyebrow wax all in one day! :) (and update the blog). We're supposed to get a good snowstorm tonight and tomorrow so we'll see if they are actually right on that. We can still see a good majority of our grass and Lily is really wanting to go sledding.

Alaina is growing so fast everyday. She loves pulling her socks off and holding onto her toes. She rolls over from her back to her front whenever she wants. And is now sleeping for a good 7 hours every night (knock on wood).

Lily is loving her little sister. She is becoming a very good helper and if Alaina is crying Lily will go and talk to her and bring her a rattle or another toy and tell her "it's ok Alaina." She is talking all the time, lots of complete sentences as well.

Playing together...at least a little bit.

Loves looking at herself

Trying to get interested in using the potty....we've had good luck a few times, but I still don't think she's ready.

Love my toes

Daddy took this pic on Sunday when mommy had to work...Go PAckers!

Sick x4

This week has not been a fun week for anyone. Lily started out the week with a temp of 102.5, cough, runny nose and just not a happy girl. Luckily with meds her temp came down, but still wasn't able to go to daycare on Tuesday b/c of the high temp, so no work for mom either. About the same time Grant started in with the coughing and runny nose (sinus problems). He never had a fever, but was tired all the time. At this point Alaina and I were good and hoping we didn't get it. Well, that changed and Wed. night Alaina got a fever of 101.5 so she wasn't able to go to daycare Thurs. so Grant stayed home from work and I took lily to daycare and worked Thursday. Alaina no longer has a fever, but has been a fussy baby today as well as having a runny nose which is preventing her from eating or sleeping the best. Ughh...and now I'm starting to get a sore throat, runny nose along with everyone else. If only I could open the windows and let all the bugs out. Pretty sure lily is sick of being cooped up inside, but I'm not feeling up to taking her outside in 30 degree weather with a sick baby. Not sure she is 100% yet though b/c she still has a terrible cough, runny nose and asked to go "night night" at noon today. We don't usually nap until 1pm and she will fight is most days. Hope she's feeling better after she wakes up. Guess I should probably go take a nap now as well since they are both sleeping! Hope no one else is having this same sickness problems!
