Happy Halloween

Even though it was a rainy trick or treat night the girls still had a great night. Garrett and I stayed home to hand out candy. Here's a few pics of Ariel, Snow White and our little giraffe.

 These were the only pictures of the girls touching the pumpkins because both said it was disgusting. :) They picked out the faces for them though.

Birthday Party

We had a double bday party celebration for Lily's soon to be 5th and Alaina's 3rd birthdays with all of our friends in our neighborhood. The girls wanted a Rainbow Party which was a great theme and I think Grant and I had as much fun decorating as the girls did at the party. :) Thanks to my Mom who came out and helped with the kids while I could get ready for the big day.

 YAY! you have no idea how happy I was that this turned out. I really thought it was going to fall over. Yes, it has 6 layers of cake plus 6 layers of frosting. Not healthy, but oh so yummy!!

Alaina turned 3!!!

Alaina turned 3 a couple weeks ago and I just haven't had a chance to post about it. We were out to a restaurant the night before her birthday and then per Alaina's request we had lasagna for her birthday dinner at home. She wanted a butterfly cake with sprinkles inside which she loved. Thanks everyone who sent her birthday gifts. She loves getting mail and was so excited to see a package on our steps when we got home! 

At her 3 year Drs. appt she weighed 30 lbs and was 35 3/4 inches tall. Good think for shoes so she could ride all the "big kid" rides at storyland that you had to be 36 inches to ride. :) Alaina loves  being outside riding her bike, started gymnastics this month, loves to pretend play with Lily all the time...cooking, shopping, dolls, play mommy and daddy. (they always fight over who gets to be the Mommy).  And she is such a little mommy to Garrett. She makes him smile and laugh just by talking to him. Such a big helper!

Garrett is getting stronger all the times. Loves tummy time! I went back to work last sunday so Lily helped Daddy give Garrett his bottle. She loved it! We put him in an ISU outfit, but he pooped all over it so we put him in his Hawkeye onesie which made him so much happier. ;) And here's a picture of some yummy food from our garden, the girls love helping picking.

Summer

Hello All....yes, it has been a while since a post but we've had a busy summer. Garrett is growing so quickly and is an awesome baby. Sleeps for 8-10 hours a night and is happy most of the day. Alaina is loving her new bike. Lily took swim lessons for a couple weeks before we spent the next 2 weeks in Iowa seeing lots of family. We had a great time back and it's always nice to see everyone if only for a short visit. Here's some random pics from the summer/trip to Iowa.
