Fun and Quick Trip back to Iowa

Here's a few pictures from our trip back. Lily had a great time seeing everyone and slept until 9:30am today. She must have been exhausted!

We loved seeing the Vogels. Kate and Lily playing together, this is about as close together as they got. :)

We went to the Science Center in Des Moines. Lily loved playing with the bubbles.

I got to go see Jenn, Jack and Baby Finley for a few hours while Gma watched Lily. It was so great to get to see you guys and I miss you already.

We're in Iowa

Lily and I flew back to Iowa on Wednesday to meet baby Leah and see the rest of our family. Grant will get in on Saturday. Lily loved the "baby" and we heard the word baby all day long. We're in Greene this weekend for Leah's baptism and will hopefully see a bunch of people then. Going to Urbandale Sunday night to Gpa and Gma Small.

I had come back to Iowa to surprise my friend Jenn at her baby shower on Sunday, but the shower isn't happening b/c she had her baby a month early on Wednesday and I was lucky enough to be in Iowa and see the baby in the NICU. Both Mom and baby and doing great!

17 Months

Wow, 17 months old, can't believe it! Lily is talking more and tries to say most things. Still has a problem with those "L's" so can't say her name. :) For the most part we can usually understand what she wants, but if we can't she gets so upset when she's trying to tell us something and we don't get it.

Sorry we haven't blogged in while. Mainly because we haven't taken our camera with us to get some good pictures when we go places or when just playing outside. It's been a little colder and windy here the last few days which means Lily freezes when she goes outside. She does still go outside though b/c she insists by pounding on the door. Here's some pics before bedtime last night eating her cheerios and a couple playing with her new golf clubs a couple weeks ago when it was really nice outside.

Happy Easter!

We hope everyone had a great Easter. It was again a beautiful day. We went to church this morning. It was a church we'd never been too and were very happy we went. The music was spectacular and it was packed. We came home and had an easter eggs hunt for Lily. She loved finding the eggs, but more importantly loved all the chocolate chips, marshmallows, animal crackers and jelly beans that were inside of them. She couldn't find another one until she had eaten everything inside of the one she just found.

Dying eggs....hmmm, well it went ok. Lily enjoyed throwing the eggs in the glasses so we didn't have too many left that didn't have cracks in them. Her fingers were only a little blue after we were finished.

Loving the weather

These last few days we have had sun and 70-80 degree weather and are loving it. Lily enjoys being outside so that is where we spend most of our days.

Fat lip

Yesterday afternoon we came in from playing outside and Lily was sitting on a chair taking her coat off and she face planted onto the hardwood. Ouch! A scared/crying baby with a bleeding lip. After a popsicle she felt much better. So we went to daycare today with a fat upper lip, when I picked her up from daycare she had a fat bottom lip. She fell off the sit and spin and bite her lip. Luckily, I don't think she even realizes anything is different.
